If you're thinking about moving to the Bay area, don't get discouraged. There's still a lot of options for you.
Hi, this is Heather Lin with Keller Williams. If you're thinking about moving to the Bay area, don't get discouraged. There's still a lot of options for you. For a million dollars, let me tell you what you could get.
If you're new to the Bay area, the Bay area is basically the area surrounding the San Francisco Bay. We have San Francisco and the area directly below it. It's called Mid-Peninsula, that covers cities from Daly City, all the way to Palo Alto. And then South of Palo Alto, we call that Silicon Valley or South Bay, all the way down to San Jose, and the East of the San Francisco Bay, we call it East Bay. So that basically is the entire Bay Area.
For a million dollars, what can you get in the Bay area? In the Mid-Peninsula, San Francisco and Silicon Valley, you're probably looking at getting a two to three bedroom condo as your most available options for millions dollars. You are able to get a small two bedroom, single-family homes in some areas within those locations.
Now, there is a high concentration of major tech companies in the Peninsula and Silicon Valley areas. Big tech players like Apple computer, Google, Facebook. They are headquartered here. So naturally this area, 30 minutes commute to those major tech companies that the most expensive areas.
If having a yard, having a home is a single-family home is important to you, there are plenty of single-family homes, three bedroom, two bath, even more bedrooms possible in South San Jose, places like Morgan Hill and Gilroy, and in a lot of places in the East Bay, such as Hayward, Newark, Emeryville, Concord. So don't get discouraged and don't let the sticker shock stop you from exploring housing options.
If you want to know more about what you could get or just get a tour of what's out there, give me a call. I have been working in the Bay area as a real estate agent for the last 12 years, and I'd love to have the opportunity to help you. Bye now.
